Michigan has an extensive support network established for start-up and incubator graduates.  Below we have listed many of the organizations that make up this community.  Please take the time to review the programs, events, and resources they have to offer - many of which are available free of charge.


The Annual Collaboration for Entrepreneurship (ACE) is an event that promotes the development and commercialization in Michigan of high-growth potential, innovative, and technology business ventures with national and international potential.


Automation Alley is a technology cluster that promotes productivity, innovation, and new business growth.


Battle Creek Unlimited (BCU) has received international acclaim serving as the business development arm for the cities of Battle Creek and Marshall.


The mission of Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) is to be the champion of biotechnology and the advocate for its member organizations – across the country, both large and small.


Central Michigan University Research Corporation is where industry, academia, and technology come together to solve real business problems.


The Core Technology Alliance (CTA) is a collaborative network of advanced technology service facilities located at major research institutions across Michigan.  These commercially oriented, community-spirited, and technologically sophisticated centers of excellence are fee-for-service laboratories to support biomedical research.

The Lansing Area Economic Partnership (LEAP) is a private/public partnership that was formed to achieve a compelling and integrated regional economic development strategy to transform the tri-county region comprising Ingham, Clinton, and Eaton counties.


MichBio’s mission is to drive life sciences industry growth in Michigan by providing its members with networking and educational opportunities; legislative, business advocacy, and public awareness efforts; a hub for life sciences information and comment; and power buying resources.


The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC)'s primary focus is to help companies, large and small, grow in Michigan in a very competitive and challenging 21st Century global economy.

Muskegon Area First is a countywide economic development corporation focused on leveraging public and private investment to accelerate business growth and the creation of high-quality employment opportunities in Muskegon.


The New Enterprise Forum (NEF) is a not-for-profit corporation founded to help entrepreneurs prosper and grow.  We link entrepreneurs to management expertise, potential joint venture partners, mentors, business services, capital, and other critical resources.


Oakland County Planning & Economic Development Services (PEDS) is a division within the Economic Development and Community Affairs Department of Oakland County, Michigan.


Oakland University's SmartZone Business Incubator (OU INC) provides entrepreneurial resources and strategic business solutions to develop intellectual property.  The incubator supports existing and grows new technology-based and life science businesses with university resources, decision support technology, business counseling services, and financial/capital acquisition assistance.


The Right Place is a regional non-profit economic development organization founded and supported through investments from the private and public sector.  Its mission is to promote economic growth in the areas of quality employment, productivity, and technology in Greater Grand Rapids by developing jobs through leading business retention, expansion, and attraction efforts.

The West Michigan Science & Technology Initiative dedicates time to helping science and technology entrepreneurs commercialize their discoveries.  WMSTI also accomodates client needs by offering incubator/accelerator amenities through the Product Development Center located on the 5th floor of the Cook-DeVos building in downtown Grand Rapids.
